Matt from Halo Rims has just sent a nice selection of there Halo Twin Rail Courier Tyre over for prizes in the Bridge Too Far Alleycat. I have never run a set of these before, but have heard very good things, and they were certainly on my "to ride" list. The tyres come in two sizes 700 x 29c and 700 x 24c. The 29c runs at a maximum 120 psi! Which for a tyre of this width is amazing, and I’m sure its quick rolling and not overweight compared to those randos we are all used to overinflating the 80psi maximum. For a winter bike, touring, comfort and as a rear tyre option these are definitely worth a go! Also in the 700 x 24c, the small difference in width means that it can still fit tight clearance frames, yet provide the extra comfort and protection without sacrificing rolling efficiency. One of the pairs was there black/gumwalll (skin) combo which had completely gone under my radar. It looks perfect for those wanting a gum wall tyre for their classic steel, and with in built Puncture protection, perfect for city streets.
